Here are some basic rules you need to follow:

First and most important: No flaming other members. (Flaming is any hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users.) Breaking this rule may result in suspension from posting or, in extreme cases account deletion.

Second: Stay on topic. Double and triple posting are not permitted (except in the Stories) forum.

Third: Post something in the Writing section. Because we are a writing forum, and writing stuff is good for your health. You do not have to post a story or poem, just some constructive criticism will be fine.

Fourth: No multiple member accounts. If you are found to have more than one account that account will be deleted. If your actions are repeated numerously you could be subject to suspension.

Fifth: No swearing, please. Really. Just don't do it.

Sixth: Although we do not mind the revival of a story written by an active member, please do not revive topics outside the Writing section that have not been posted in for longer than 30 days, i.e. a month. If a topic is revived, it will be closed. Continuous revival of topics will lead to warnings and loss of reputation.

Last, but probably most important: PLEASE copyright your work. (This rule set into effect 1/3/2009. Stories posted beforehand do not apply) Example: Copyright [Your real name] [Year]. Please place this either at the bottom of your work, or inform people that it is copyrighted elsewhere if you do not wish to reveal your actual name for safety purposes.
**NOTE: Copyright laws are different in different countries, If you live outside the United States, please check your country's copyright laws.**

Now, some basic outlines of features in the site:

The Shoutbox: You are free to be random and somewhat spammy here, but NO SPAMFESTS, as this is frustrating to a lot of people and also totally pointless. Also, the Shoutbox does not permit you to exceed ten shouts in a row, so bear that in mind.

Chat: Please, no swearing or innappropriate discussions here. This is not a private a chatroom, so everyone will be able to see what you have said.

Blogs: You can make your own blog here, though keep in mind that you won't be able to exactly duplicate your blogspot one. You can talk about anything you want in your blog, after all, it is yours. But please keep it rated G.

Calendar: Here, you can keep up to date on contests and other public events. You can also use this to post your birthday for others to see, and things like that. You can also use this as a personal tool.

Stories: Place your story in the "Stories" section (oddly enough), under whatever genre you think it belongs in. If you think it doesn't belong in any of them, place it in Other or contact a mod to create a new genre there. If you inadvertantly place your story in the wrong place, a mod will move it to the right location for you.

Reputation: You can only give someone one rep change per day.

If you have -5 rep you will be given a post restriction/temp ban.

NO REVENGE REPPING

If you down rep someone just because they down repped you, you will be given a warning and their rep will be given a +1. Do it again, and we will give you a 3 day ban and their rep will be given a +1. Do it another time after that, and you will be banned, and their rep will be given a +1.
